Behind the curtains..

There will always be the heroes behind the curtains..

The guys who do the dirty work.

The guys who are the unsung ones. The forgotten ones...

Like per say, a building will always be an architect's 'piece of art'. But the engineers are rarely sung for at the end of the day. But they are the ones who made it stand.

Like, a company will always be a profitable one and its reputation is partly held by its charismatic leader. But the workers are rarely sung for at the end of the day.

And a band will always be looked as the guys who make it every night on stage. But there had never been a band who can work well without its sound crew.

A husband would never be complete without his wife, and vice versa.

And the list goes on and on. Point is, at the end of the day, most of the time these people feel unappreciated, but they are the ones doing the bulk of the work.

The ones who get recognition are people who can wrench their way out of things, and still get credit for what they do.

So all in all, think about it. At the end of the day, we owe it to the heroes behind the curtains after all.

The Algorithm of life.

I think I have been living long enough to say.
That life is a sequence of events...an algorithm...
There is always an event, process, and result.
We start our lives with birth. This is an event.
Then, we go through a process of growth. This is a process.
And we result as an adult. And we die. This is a result and leads to another event.
And in big processes there are large 'sub-processes' .
In growth there are 'good growth' and 'bad growth'.
Each sub-process leads to a different result and consequently a different event.
In good growth, there is good nourishment, good Religion, good education, etc2.
And therefore each path we take, each logic we take, each different process will lead to a different result.
Think about this.
What if we could go back into time, and we change just a teeny bit of our past.
This would directly change the path. This is another path in the algorithm altogether.
So, according to the Multiplier effect, as well as the chain rule and the rule of four,
We will end up totally different altogether in the future.
So..this is what they call. Qada' and Qadar.
This is what they call fate.
This is why we cant tamper with time..
Thank God. Ada hikmahnya....

Infinite Space

Imagine that one morning when you wake up...
You see that there are no walls...
You are still in your room, on your bed...
But there are no walls....
What you see in front of you, is just a neverending distance, an infinite space....
An infinite space....
You strain your eyes to see in the distance..
For something, somewhere..
but all you see...
is a distant horizon...no mountains, no doors, no windows...
nothing...it just goes on forever......
an infinite space....is there such a place??

an infinite space..

Mr Smiley =D

It's interesting how smileys are put to work.

They just consist of at least two characters, but they work their wonders in different ways.

Like for instance, consider this simple statement:

Weii jahat la kauu....
 ..and..
Weii jahat la kau. =p

See the difference? The second one is a lot more playful, friendlier and gives laughter.

Smileys are cool coz it gives out emotions. It gets the emotions factor across in a cold rigid text message.

So you can 'emotionalize' your message whether you are angry, sad, playful, or laughing.

But I think the bigger picture here is emotions.

Whether people get what you mean or not is how you show your emotions. (Not your emotionality)

People get that you are happy when you smile. And no words are necessary.

People get it when you are pissed, by wearing that frown. Emotions are daunted on to us from the day we were born. We cry when we are hurt. We laugh when we are happy.

So, back to smileys. Use it wisely. Dont overuse it. And don't waste it. It can save your future.

Rock and Roll.

When I am down, I love to listen to music. But one song in particular to help me pump up is this classic, Rock and Roll from Led Zeppelin.

Tips to listen to this:

1. Speakers, really big ones.
2. Maximum volume.
3. A big field of movement.
4. The ability to make impromptu dance steps.

Go ahead. Make your day. You'll be head spun in no time. =D

Good Music..

Can someone give me the definition of good music?

To some people, good music is something that is aggressive. That has the scream of a bloodcurling vampire and the aggressiveness of a bulldozer.

To some people, good music is classic music, composed of intricate musical technicality and spans up to 8 and 9 long minutes.

To me however, good music is simply something good to the ears. Desirable things to listen to.

Consequently, due to the generality of my definition, what is good to my ears can be ungood to other people.

For instance, I love classical music. Really I do. I think it is the most complex form of music available. But a lot of people my age dont even listen to classical, let alone know about it.

But I think classical music is the most evergreen form of music readily available in stores. Go get em.

And I also love soundscapes. Like Kitaro. some of their music is now even music. They are just soundscapes. And I love those to.

But not all people listen to these things I listen to.

Like in more conventional forms of music, I like to listen to guitar oriented harmonies, vocal harmonies and such. But not all people specifically love those too.

I also like percussion based instruments. I think STOMP is magnificent.

I also like choir and opera.

And in some instances, I also like instrumentals. Some short and sweet. Others long and phrased.

And listening to all these that are not listened to, I think good music to me is another world of beauty. It's a myriad of colours that gives me a chance to paint my black and white world.

Wow. Isnt that dramatic. =D

Losing Edge.

I have not been writing for quite some time I see.

I guess the seasonal tendency of blogging has gotten into me.

I hate it. I was reading through some things that I wrote a few months back in January and all of those were good stuff. I realised that I will forever have the love to write.

But writing is like reading. It takes practice.

And I am losing my edge.

I need to write more. It makes me more mature...

(write write write write)...

People On the bus.

People are interesting. And learning about them is even more so.

Have you ever been on a bus, sitting alone and have nothing to do?

I have. And more often than not I tend to look at other people in the bus, (try to) study their characteristics. (Actually I was only trying to find something to do, which is better than studying through my lecture notes. =D)

Being in Australia, for sure the kind of people I meet in the bus are a lot more different than Malaysia.

In Adelaide specifically, there are a lot of old people around. They like to take their time, get on the bus, smile at the driver, and they have shaking hands when they want to validate their ticket. (Cepatlerr, aku dah lambat nk pi kelas niii...)

Also, what strikes me the most is the number of 'problematic' people on the streets and in the bus. There is this one day when in the morning, I seem to be meeting really strange people and on the way, I was late for class.

There was this one guy who sits alone, who looks like a homeless. He looks like Shrek version human (no kidding, minus the ears of course.), with a constantly open mouth, and every 7 seconds or more, keeps swaying his head like he was listening to Indian Metal.

And then the same morning, the bus driver stopped for what seemed to be someone who want to get on the bus. What turned out was that the guy just stood outside the bus and started to tell the driver (outloud) about stories about dont know what. And it was polite of the driver to simple say 'thank you' and drove away (I would've thrown a show)...and I was again late for class..

But there are some interesting people who I meet on the bus as well.

There is this one guy, who is a traveller. He travelled numerous places before. What struck me is that he had a pretty steady job before he left Australia decades ago. But he quit all that, went travelling and worked while he travelled. He worked really simply, like teaching English, etc.

And this all happened a few months back. Surprise2, recently we met again on the same bus. And he remembered who I am. And we continued to chat like old friends...(And I cant even remember his name. =D)

So I guess, looking at people keeps me interested in staying on the bus eh.

It's also funny to me when I am living in Australia but the students whom I see going to Uni everyday in the same bus as mine was mostly chinese. Yeap, more asian whites then Aussie Whites. Guess Adelaide is Old Man Country after all.

But being able to study people, quietly, is a bonus in itself.

Don't get me wrong, I dont think Im a 'people' person. But all the same, studying people gives me the pleasure of looking at humans and discerning their character.

Everyone is unique, and getting to know what part is unique is interesting in itself. Because given a situation, everyone would not react in the same way. It's interesting to see how people react and compare it to how you yourself do.

People can also be role models. They can be your inspiration to get better in life. It's interesting to see how people do what they do, and why they do it.

People are interesting, especially people on the bus.

Procrastination...

Procrastination, the thief of time..

In my 20 years of serving the world, procrastination had always been the bane for an organized life.

Even when in primary school...

secondary school,

foundation,

uni...

And I'm sure, a lot of people will say the same thing..

Fact is, there is just no running away from procrastination..

But the bad thing is, we know that it is bad...So, why do we do it?

I think the easiest answer within, is that:

We never learn (Tak sedar sedar diri la katakan)

So, what is procrastination?

Procrastination, put it simply, is delaying things. Delaying our homework. Delaying our job. Delaying our duties..

Thing is, life revolves around a chain of events, and is thus subjected to the chain rule, in that a small change in one thing will affect a sequence of events that come after it.

So procrastinating in one thing, will have an effect on the events that follow later on. In an analogy, it is like dominoes...

You push the first one too slow, the rest falls slowly. You push the first one hard, and the rest falls hard.

So, why is procrastination the thief of time?

Imagine, in a day, we have a few events. Let's say, in a day, we rise, bathe, go to 3 classes, come back home, cook, eat, do homework, sleep.

So in effect, we have only 24 hours to do all that..

Let's say, we bathe for 30 minutes (accounting for girls of course. =p). If we delay the time we take to rise from the bed (like turning off our alarms, tossing and turning in bed) for about 10 minutes, we take up an extra 10 minutes of bathing. Which means that ideally, we can only bathe for 20 mins.

..but we still bathe for 30 mins, which means we delay the time to take the bus.

....so we arrive at the bus stop 10 mins late, the next bus comes in another 15 mins..

..so after 15 mins, we go to class. We're late for class because the journey to uni is about 15 mins.

..so we already used up our 15 mins of class to get to uni...

Class for 3 hours as usual..

..then we come back home. Let's say we're supposed to cook at 6.oo pm. But we're tired and we rest for an extra 30 mins. So we start cooking at 6.30 pm.

But at 6.45 pm, we should be finishing our cooking.. So we wasted another half on hour there, and we finish cooking at 7.30..

But at 7.30 we're supposed to start homework, so we cannot watch tv after eating.

But we stil watch TV. So we start homework at 8.00

And we delay doing homework.. We YM, Facebook and all that. So we take up two extra hours doing all that. While we're supposed to finish homework at 10pm, we finish at 12pm.

And therefore, it takes out 1 hour from our sleep. So we get about 6 hours sleep.

...and most of the time the next day we will wake up late again...and the cycle continues..

So a little delay in the beginning of the day, caused more delays in the next events to follow.

And this had been a problem for almost 15 years....

Thing is, there are people who are extremely good at managing time. Goes to show that if we realy try, we can get what we want.

Living in Australia, I have friends who are extremely good at managing time. They go through the same workload as I do, but they sleep earlier and they go to all their classes.

Hurmm...maybe it's time for a change? Please?
